Questions about Neural Therapy Treatments
We offer integrative and functional psychiatric care focused on healing trauma, supporting cellular health, and restoring nervous system balance rather than only managing symptoms.
No. We do not initiate chronic daily psychiatric medications. We specialize in safe psychiatric medication deprescribing when appropriate and desired by the patient.
IV Procaine is used in neural therapy to support nervous system regulation, trauma healing, and cellular communication, helping restore mental clarity and emotional balance.
Neural therapy helps reset the nervous system by addressing stored trauma, inflammation, and dysregulation through targeted local or systemic treatments.
Individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, medication side effects, or seeking alternative psychiatric care may benefit from our integrative approach.
Yes, most prescription medications for mental health will still allow for treatment with IV Procaine. Depending on the medication and the dosage we may take extra time/caution, particularly during the initial infusion. Local Neural Therapy and Stellate Ganglion Blocks are both amenable to concurrent use of most mental health prescriptions as well.
Initial assessments and treatments for IV procaine are typically 60-90 minutes and subsequent infusions 45-60 minutes. Local injections of procaine to interference fields and meridians are scheduled in 15 minute blocks and based on the size of the area to be treated.
While most people begin to notice incremental improvements even after the initial treatment, there is a compounding of effects that occurs. A typical schedule is to undergo weekly infusions for 4 consecutive weeks and reassess response. At that time we can consider a second series of treatments or for some, just periodic "maintenance" infusions when you feel things building up and your mental latitude diminishing.
Generally, most people do not “feel” different during the treatment, and it is not necessary to perceive changes at the time since procaine is working at the level of the cell's perception and regulation. The differences are perceived in the days following each treatment as your cells readjust to increased capacity and more regulated and coordinated function. When people have perception of sensations during the treatment, they tend to be mild feelings of central warmth, relaxation similar to having a glass of wine and occasionally a little light-headedness.
We ask that you don't begin driving until after about 15 minutes after the infusion concludes. Procaine is rapidly hydrolyzed in your plasma and further excreted through your kidneys and has a very short half-life and clean metabolites.
At the time of treatment, you may elect to add-on a preceding infusion of vitamins that have a synergistic effect on treatment. The benefits are that the nutrients are immediately available to the cells to support their repair and detoxification processes and not subject to challenges in bioavailability with oral supplements that some may be challenged with. You can also plan to have a light meal with an advanced whole-food based multivitamin/multimineral 1-2 hours beforehand that is supportive to treatment.
Some people feel invigorated after a treatment and feel inspired to be active and others have a sense to regenerate through rest. Hydration both before the treatment and after is imperative to the process but otherwise the best policy is to let your body guide you on what it needs to feel nourished following treatment.
There are different approaches by different Neural Therapy practitioners and it mostly comes down to your preference. Our approach is not exclusive to either treatment protocol and they can be performed concurrently (on different days). Some people have a strong somatic awareness and understanding of where trauma resides in their body or have known sites of trauma/injury and prefer to prioritize these areas locally first. For others, and is our general approach, is to begin Neural Therapy with a series of systemic infusions that can percolate into aspects of our bodies where we may have compromised cells but this may not yet seem apparent in our minds perception. This can have both an immediately apparent therapeutic impact (resolution/alleviation of symptoms) as well as a more preventive approach of addressing and supporting cellular dysfunction before it presents to our Mind's perception as awareness.
Try not to consume alcohol during your treatment series as I have found that it impedes the results. Ideally, abstain at least 72 hours prior to an infusion. If you are routinely taking over the counter medicines, supplements or medications, be sure to let me know so that I can advise if any should be held near the time of infusion. Generally speaking most will be safe to continue per your usual routine.
If you are interested in augmenting your diet with supplements that foster cell membrane health and regeneration, we can talk about them at your initial consultation or treatment.
We offer a limited selection of synergistic add-on nutrients such as a vitamin preparation as well as Glutathione which can help with your body's work to process toxins and waste products that are resolving as a response to the procaine treatment.
If you do not presently have a therapist that you are working with to support your Minds perception, I have several wonderful trauma oriented therapists to whom I can refer you to that offer different areas of specialization ranging from somatic movement practices, EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapies, traditional medicinal approaches, acupuncture, reiki and more and am more than happy to share their contact information with you to begin concurrent therapy. Additionally, we will plan to update this website so that you can review these individuals and their approaches as well.
